APPLICATIONS
This transmitter is designed to provide excellent accuracy for monitoring process control pressures in an environment with uncontrolled temperatures, or in the laboratory as a calibration standard.
All sensors are absolute devices with a tare adjustment that can be used to zero out the barometric pressure offset for a gage reading. The tare adjustment can be logged to show the absolute pressure or gage pressure.
The standard interface is RS-232C; both RS-422 and RS-485 formats are available as options. The transmitter is user programmable to select data output at rates of 300 to 9600 baud. In addition, the user can perform a variety of tasks over the RS-232C interface including:
- Zero offset adjustment;
- Select from 21 different Engineering Unit
headers
- Set high and low alarms
- Query the identification of the pressure sensor; and
- Adjust the electronic "dampening" to provide a more stable output.
No special software is required to interface with this sensor. Most of the commercially available modem interface packages are capable of interfacing with the sensor without handshaking.
