GEL 2442 
The MiniCoder kit consists of a
MiniCoder and a precision gear wheel mounted directly onto a drive shaft.
This space saving design makes it possible to incorporate advanced feed-back
technology into very compact drives. With no moving parts in the sensor
side, performance and reliability is dramatically increased. Using
state-of-the-art micro-system technology, the scanning elements and
electronics are sealed into one integrated package - the MiniCoder. The
sine-wave output of the MiniCoder can easily be converted to square-wave
signals with the GEL212
or GEL 213 interpolation electronics. Both of these units feature
multiplication factors from 1 up to 40. The MiniCoder may be submerged in
oil or other liquids due to the synthetic material the MiniCoder body is
constructed of. Typical applications include spindle drives and machining
centers.
